New Year Inspired Cocktails

cocktails_recipe

The majority of us will celebrate the New Year with a glass of champagne. But we suggest you make your party more inspiring, fancy and fun by preparing the following cocktails for your friends and guests.

“Bellini”

You will need:

  • 200 ml of sparkling wine
  • 1 peach
  • 1 teaspoon of sugar or maple syrup (optional)
  • 1 teaspoon of lemon juice or to taste (optional)

Remember that peaches will have a great impact not only on the taste but also on the look of your cocktail. If you take sweet and juicy peaches, the cocktail taste will benefit from this. White peaches will make your cocktail of a gentle cream color, while orange peaches will bring a bit of sunny colors.

Instructions:

Slice a small piece of a peach - you will use it as a decoration of your glass. Put the rest of the peach into the boiling water for about 20 seconds. Take it out and peel off the skin. Alternatively, you can also skip the step of boiling your peach and peeling off the skin, but then your puree might be not that smooth. The other option could be using the frozen peaches. The only trick with the frozen peaches is to let them completely defrost before making a puree.

Put the peach, sweetener (if you want your cocktail to be a bit sweeter) and lemon juice (this is also optional and will add a bit of a flavour to your cocktail)  into a blender and mix to get a puree and chill it. Pour the chilled puree into the glass and then slowly pour the champagne into the glass so that it stirs with the puree. Decorate your glass with a piece of peach.

“Sparkling Sorbet Cocktail”

You will need:

  • chilled champagne or prosecco
  • sorbet
  • piece of fruit to your taste (orange, pineapples, lemon, etc.)

Instructions:

Firstly, cool your glasses - put your glasses into the refrigerator or freezer for at least 30 minutes before serving your cocktails.

When the glasses are cooled, put 2-3 small scoops of sorbet (check here how you can make the fruit sorbet yourself) to each chilled glass. Try to put the scoops on top of each other - it will make your cocktail look great. Gently pour the chilled champagne into the glasses with sorbet immediately before serving. Use a piece of fruit to decorate your glasses.

"Black Corduroy"

You will need

  • 100 ml of black beer like stout or Krsuovice Cerne
  • champagne or prosecco
  • 30 ml of bourbon like Bulleit Bourbon (optional)
  • 0.5-1 teaspoon of orange bitter (optional)
  • Grated nutmeg (optional)

Instructions:

Put a couple of ice cubes into a champagne glass. Pour 100 ml of dark beer into the glass and simply add the champagne. However, if you would like to add more flavour to your cocktail, pour bourbon and add bitters into the glass. Grate a little nutmeg on top.

“Holly Golightly”

You will need:

  • 15 ml of gin or vodka
  • champagne
  • 10-15 mln of lemon juice
  • 1 teaspoon of sugar, maple or flower syrup
  • 1 tablespoons of grenadine or blackcurrant juice (optional)

Instructions:

Take gin or vodka (you can use both of them interchangeably, however gin will add a bit more of flavour), lemon juice, sugar or your favourite syrup and thoroughly mix all the ingredients. Optionally, you can add grenadine - it will add rich pomegranate flavors together with reddish to pink tints to your cocktail. As a substitute for grenadine, the blackcurrant juice can be used. For better results, use a shaker. Pour the mixture into the glass and top with the champagne.

“Champagne Negroni”

You will need:

  • 30 ml of strong liqueur, preferably Campari
  • 30 ml of red or sweet vermouth
  • 30 ml of gin (optional)
  • champagne or prosecco, chilled
  • orange peel (optional)

Instructions:

Put the ice cubes into the glass. Mix or shake liqueur and vermouth. If you want to make your cocktail stronger, add gin. Strain mixture into serving glass and top with champagne. Decorate the glass with the orange peel.

Happy New Year!
